- Northstar Security is developing AI agents for security teams.
Northstar Security, a startup developing AI agents for security teams, emerged from stealth with $7 million in seed funding.
The startup says its platform connects data from security and IT tools to identify combinations of issues that could expose critical business systems. Its agents can initiate fixes such as installing endpoint protection, notifying users or limiting access, with people able to supervise those actions.
Northstar is building a Security Context Graph that links identities, assets, applications, vulnerabilities and business systems. The company says it connects to more than 70 enterprise security and IT products, including Okta, GitHub, Workday, Microsoft Defender and Entra, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Northstar links security data into a real-time graph
Northstar Security said it ingests data from existing security and IT tools to build what it calls a Security Context Graph. The graph is updated in real time and shows how identities, assets, applications, vulnerabilities and business systems connect.
The company aims to identify what it calls toxic combinations. A vulnerability, an unmanaged device or an account with excessive privileges may appear controlled separately but could expose a critical business system when combined.
One example is a laptop without endpoint protection whose owner is a privileged user able to reach a critical payroll system. Analysts can investigate findings like this with plain-language questions.
Northstar supports external-agent security workflows
Northstar Security said customers can give external AI agents access to its graph through Model Context Protocol, or MCP, and build their own security workflows.
Northstar founders bring Normalyze and AppDynamics experience
SecurityWeek said CEO and co-founder Amer Deeba co-founded Normalyze, which Proofpoint later acquired, and previously held a senior executive role at Qualys. Deeba said, “Security teams are drowning in data but starving for context.”
SecurityWeek said co-founder and CTO Ed Rowe previously held the same role at Farmers Business Network and led engineering as an SVP at AppDynamics.
Northstar Security said it will use the funding to develop its platform, hire staff and expand its go-to-market push.
